What are the benefits of co-curricular activities? Singapore has a long tradition of supporting students in their pursuit for achievement. The MOE invests heavily into these programs, believing that being active outside the classroom will lead to more success for students. Co-curricular activities have several benefits, including improved social and leadership skills, as well as improved health outcomes such as physical activity and stress management skills – all of which contribute to higher self-esteem!

The variety in CCA offered by schools provides an opportunity for students who might not have found their niche yet — we’ve all had those moments when we thought “maybe I should just quit” but CCA gives us an opportunity to explore our options without pressure from peers. For example, some students may feel more comfortable trying out less competitive versions of sports before they dive deeper into what interests them most which can also help build self esteem as well as confidence. For some reason, everyone thinks that co-curricular activities are important. You hear it from teachers and parents alike: “It’s so important to be in an after school activity!” But why?

According to recent research on the subject of extracurriculars’ effects on students, studies have shown that being involved with a group outside of class can help you make more friends at your school because they may introduce new perspective to you or even work together for a common project. They also found out that these same groups often offer opportunities for leadership skills development which is great when applying for JC or Poly since JC/Poly want applicants who not only did well academically but also showed grit through their involvement in clubs/organizations! 1) Holistic Learning:
Holistic learning is the process of exploring and expanding one’s horizons. Using their social skills, students can broaden their knowledge in a given area through group participation. Joining clubs allows for a student to put these new-gained abilities into practice as well as allowing them to deepen existing relationships that they already have with friends who may be interested in similar things such as club memberships!

2) Follow one’s interest:
CCAs open up a world of opportunity for youth to explore new interests and hobbies that sometimes would not have been possible. CCA also assists children in finding their place by offering experiences that would otherwise be unattainable due to time and financial constraints, as well as bringing exposure to untapped potential that was previously unnoticed until our child began attending!
